🦁🌊 Nomad Week Recap
Cape Town is one of those places that makes you stop and think, “Should I move here?” (Even as a nomad…)
The past six weeks have been absolutely unreal. Here are a few of the top highlights from Nomad Week and my time here with the Pangea community:
🌅 Lion’s Head Hike: Lion’s Head is one of the most iconic hikes in Cape Town. After staring at it for two weeks from the city, I got to climb it with Lekker Hikes during Nomad Week. Hands down, best way to start the day.
💃 Serendipity Gala: Got all dressed up and watched the sunset from the top of Table Mountain. Not something you can typically do on a random Wednesday.
🇿🇦South African Pitch Fest: Local founders stepped up to share what they’re building and why it matters. Huge congrats to UbuntuPay for taking first place and winning the Nomad Africa Fund Startup Grant!
🎤 Nomad Week Speakers & Panels: Sooooo many great talks throughout the week. It reminded me how special nomad life is and left me wanting to explore more of Africa.
🐧 Boulders Beach Penguins: This was a bucket list moment for me. I’ve never seen penguins just out and about, and we got to stand literally right next to them.
🐘 Safari w/ UZINZO: I never expected to be face-to-face with a lion, then it happened more than once. Also had the best Aperol spritz of my life while watching the sunset and two rhinos all at the same time.
🍷 Winelands Weekend: Pool party in Stellenbosch after a full day of wine tasting, a proper braai, and the best garlic bread of my life.
And the good news is, we’re coming back bigger and better next year. Why watch it all on Instagram stories next year when you can be in them?? Join us Feb 17-26, 2027!!

🇮🇹🍝New Nomad Fest Alert: Italy
I don’t know about you, but everywhere I turn on social media, I see another post about the Italia Nomad Fest. It has me looking at flights and dreaming about cannoli making classes.
Italia Nomad Fest is built around slowing down and actually stepping outside the comfy nomad bubble. Instead of spending the whole week talking only to people who live the same lifestyle, you get to connect with the local community of Palermo.
The mornings are for talks and workshops, but the afternoons are for joining local-led food experiences, cultural walks, and neighborhood activities. The idea is to share meals, have real conversations, and make lasting friendships (that you can stay in touch with on Pangea ofc).
And who better to mingle with than Italians, amirite 👀
Now that you're already drooling thinking about it, we’ve got you covered. Use the code “Pangea10” at checkout for 10% off your ticket.
🗓️ When: March 8-15, 2026
📍 Where: Palermo, Sicily, Italy
💸 Cost after discount: €266
🇵🇹 Outsite Trip Spotlight: Sagres, Portugal
If you’re not sure where to go next, this one is tempting.
Outsite is hosting a month in Sagres from March 29 to April 26. It’s on the western edge of the Algarve, super laid back, big surf town energy, cliffs, and ocean everywhere you look.
It seems like the kind of place where you wake up, go for a run by the water, maybe try a surf lesson, maybe just watch other people try, and then start your work day.
You’re close to the beach, there are trails all around, rooftop yoga, fresh seafood, and a built-in community, so you’re not figuring it out alone.
✈️ Travel Plans & Upcoming Trips

My time in Cape Town has come to an end with a lot of see ya laters and beautiful sunsets I’ll never forget. By the time you’re reading this, I’ll be back in Charlotte, NC, until the end of March!
If we hosted a Pangea meetup in the US this spring, where would you actually show up?
